Managing template permissions

Intelligent Reports allows the system administrator to control who can create, edit and delete templates. By default:

  • Only JIRA administrators can create, edit and delete templates.

  • All JIRA users can use any template to generate reports. The reports will only contain the data that the user running the report has access to through normal JIRA permissions.

You can follow these steps to give or revoke template editing permission. Note that you must be a JIRA administrator to manage permissions.

  1. Navigate to the Templates page.

  2. Click the Report Permissions button in the top right corner. Updating template permissions

  3. Select users to add to the list of template editors.

  4. Remove users from the list of template editors using the Remove link next to their name in the list.

  5. Choose whether you want JIRA administrators to have template editing permission. If this option is set, all JIRA administrators will be able to edit all templates, regardless of whether they are included in the list of template editing users.

  6. Click the OK button to save your changes.
